I think that characters from the Silmarillion aren't completely evil ) Especially Feanor and his sons ^_^ Maybe it's just an misundestanding between the Valar and them And I really pity Maeglin (( He has so unhappy childhood...
I dont think of them as evil, they had flaws and were passionate. And who can not make mistakes when power, envy and fear combine with such pain, shame and despair? How couldn´t they lost they way? And when all the wrong were done, when all the sins taint your soul, when madness take hold, how could you aspire to redemption, to return home? Proud and strong they all were...they were shaped by the events, but they changed the history of ME.
